"I am writing in regards to the Sonitrol alarm systems we recently installed in our retail locations. We are extremely pleased with the performance of the new system, and I would like to thank you all for your efforts to keep our stores protected.

 

I first met Joe Wilson about 1 year ago when he came to our store in White Rock and told me about the system. He explained the features and benefits of the Sonitrol system vs. conventional systems. I have to tell you that even though the idea sounded great, I wasn't entirely convinced. Joe was very professional and did not pressure me or try to 'sell me'. Instead, he gave me the names of some companies Sonitrol already worked with and I did some research. Joe also furnished me with testimonials and an audiotape of real break-ins.

 

Our company recently moved to a new warehouse facility, and this year we were really concerned about break-ins due to the amount of high-demand inventory (skis/snowboards) we carry. We got the Sonitrol system installed at the warehouse and were contemplating the conversion of our retail locations when we had an attempted break-in at one of our stores. This expedited our decision to outfit all Mad Dog's locations with Sonitrol. This all happened the week before Christmas, so it was not exactly the most opportune time to make the switch; it is the busiest time of year for us. Joe made sure the systems were all scheduled for installation before Christmas, as that is typically when we get targeted. Stuart did all the installations, working a lot of extra hours and working his schedule around our store hours. He was a pleasure to deal with; always smiling and doing whatever it took to get the job done.

 

With all that being said, I would like you to know how your system has helped us. I am usually the one to respond to alarm calls. With our previous security system, I was used to getting out of bed at all hours of the night to drive (up to 45 rains.) to one of the stores and reset the alarm. Nine times out of ten it turned out to be a false alarm anyway; a motion sensor had been triggered by something falling over or blowing in the A/C jet stream, etc. This would happen an average of 6-8 times a month. Since the switch to Sonitrol, I have not once had to respond to a false alarm.

 

Two days after Sonitrol was installed in our Langley store we had a break-in. The response time was so quick that the Police caught two of the perpetrators still inside the store; the third guy was caught a few hours later. Best of all, we recovered all of the product. The Police were on scene in about 3 – 4 minutes vs. a normal response time of 12 –14 minutes with the old system. The Police were raving about the Sonitrol system and how it made their job easier. This is the first time ever we have caught anyone after a break-in at our store! I would again like to thank all of you at Sonitrol.
