2. Use CCTV monitoring both inside and outside of your restaurant.  This type of monitoring is the perfect complement to audio verification, with the added benefit of allowing management to remotely monitor staff activity both recorded and live.  This will encourage proper staff action while you are not on site and deter employee theft, damage of property and vandalism. 
   
   
3. Monitor the temperature of your freezers to ensure you do not lose a freezer full of food due to a malfunction.  You should also consider a security system that reacts to smoke, heat and fire to prevent loss and injury.
   
   
4. Control which employees have access to your restaurant at specific times of day with a managed access control system.  Dayshift employees should not have access to your restaurant in the evening or after hours.  The same applies to night shift.  In addition, you can limit access to storage rooms and offices that contain expensive stock or safes.
   
   
5. Implement panic buttons in different areas of your restaurant.  Offices, registers, service areas and storage rooms are areas where employees may be at risk and a panic button could prove to be a major help as on activation they allow Sonitrol to pass live intelligence on to responding police so they respond appropriately. 
   
   
6. Make sure employees working the evening shift leave in groups of two.  This system will work best if you ensure your parking area is secure with sufficient lighting and security monitoring.      
   
   
7. Install CCTV video cameras to monitor high risk areas.  Cash registers, exits, parking lots and storage areas (ex. Liquor storage in bars) may be areas to consider.
